I'm working on a new series of paintings called The Bears, and will exhibit them at Exeter Open Studios, 2009. They're kind of about frustration at not being able to show your true colours in everyday situations. So much of life requires a kind of formality, it makes me really admire wild animals.
I started this blog in 2010. I returned to education in 2006, to follow my dream of becoming a Fine Artist. This is a sanctuary for my thoughts, successes and inspiration, while I make my way on this journey. Expect news of exhibitions, updates from the studio, and perspectives on research I am doing. Enjoy!

The Shop
As part of the Open Studios event, myself and three other artists took over an empty shop for a weekend. There were prints, furniture, ceramics and paintings for sale, in the prime location of Exeter's busy city centre. We had 300 odd visitors a day, and bought life to corner of town that had become quiet in the recession. Thanks to Exeter City Council for the opportunity.
